Welcome

On Wednesday the 21st of September 2011 the annual Netherlands India Business Meet (NIBM) has been held in ING House (Amstelveenseweg 500, Amsterdam). With the aim of further strengthening the bilateral economic relationship, sharing business and government knowledge and building new relations with new opportunities, the Netherlands India Chamber of Commerce and Trade (NICCT), ING and KPMG organised and hosted the NIBM for the 6th time

India is a high growth market with an expected GDP growth of 7.8 % for this year and a future growth perspective of 8% for the upcoming years. Next to China (9%), India shows the highest growth percentages of the other BRIC countries. The GDP growth is fuelled by comprehensive investments by government and private sector (11% growth in 2011).

Therefore, economic powerhouse India draws the attention of many entrepreneurs and investors in search of growth markets to do business. But, actually taking the step into the Indian market is still seen by many as complicated.

This year’s NIBM focused on the theme ‘Entrepreneurship and investments’ and discussed the opportunities India offers to entrepreneurs and investors and the conditions for becoming a successful player in the Indian market. This NIBM targets Dutch and Indian entrepreneurs (business, investors and economic partners) with experience in the field of international business.

NICCT India Business Award 2011
The NIBM 2011 has seen a festive closure with the award ceremony of the NICCT India Business Award. With this award the NICCT continues to recognize and award excellence in exploring Indian-Dutch business opportunities in the presence of a large number of prominent members of the Dutch and Indian business communities. The purpose of the award is to further stimulate economic relations between the Netherlands and India. This year Danieli Corus was the proud winner of the NICCT India Business Award.
